Sensata Surges Ahead: A Quarter of Exceptional Strength

Sensata, a leading industrial technologies company, has delivered an exceptionally strong third quarter for 2026. The results exceeded expectations across key metrics, including revenue, adjusted operating income, adjusted operating margin, and adjusted earnings per share.

Sensata's Chief Executive Officer, Stephan von Schuckmann, emphasized that the company's underlying results met or exceeded the midpoints of their guidance ranges without the benefit from a significant program termination payment. This $24 million payment was related to the cancellation of an electric vehicle program by a customer. The CEO highlighted that this program was canceled last year and had no impact on revenue outlook for 2026.

The third quarter saw Sensata deliver broad-based growth across all three segments, with organic revenue growth, market outgrowth, and operating income growth reported in each area. Revenue grew approximately 8% year-over-year or 7% organically, with the company's strong pricing discipline in the automotive business contributing to this success.

Sensata also made significant progress on its financial metrics, including reducing net leverage to 2.1 times trailing 12-month adjusted EBITDA and completing $33 million of open market debt repurchases during the quarter. The company's free cash flow conversion was exceptionally strong at 119%, with year-to-date free cash flow reaching $489 million. This performance puts Sensata on track for another record-breaking year, following an all-time record in 2025.

The company's transformation has been focused on improving its operating model to convert earnings into cash and allocate capital effectively for future growth investments. Sensata expects full-year 2026 free cash flow conversion to exceed 100% of adjusted net income, driven by improvements in the cash conversion cycle and capex efficiency.
