Summit Achieves Significant Milestones in Q2 2026 as Ivonescimab Continues to Impress
Summit, a leading biopharmaceutical company, recently concluded its quarterly conference call for Q2 2026, highlighting notable achievements and updates on its flagship asset, ivonescimab. The presentation, led by Chairman of the Board Bob Duggan, Co-Chief Executive Officers Dr. Maky Zanganeh and Manmeet Soni, along with Chief Research and Development Strategy Officer Dr. Allen Yang, showcased significant progress in clinical development and commercialization efforts.
Speaking to investors and analysts, Bob Duggan expressed pride in the team's dedication to patient-centric research, citing a growing network of physician supporters for ivonescimab. He also acknowledged Big Pharma's interest in combining ivonescimab with innovative new targets, reflecting its potential as a backbone for combination therapy in various solid tumor settings.
The company highlighted ivonescimab's impressive track record, having read out four phase III clinical studies, all of which yielded positive data. This achievement has led to two approvals in China, with another pending review. Furthermore, 15 phase III trials are currently underway or have completed in multiple tumor types, and a total of 171 clinical trials, including investigator-initiated and collaborative studies, are listed on clinicaltrials.gov.
Notably, over 4,000 patients across the world have been dosed with ivonescimab in Summit-sponsored or Akeso-sponsored clinical trials. Commercially, more than 70,000 patients have received ivonescimab in China alone. The company's collective pipelines cover a range of cancer types, including lung and colorectal cancers, as well as head and neck, breast, biliary, pancreatic, gynecological, gastric, and hepatocellular cancer.
Yesterday, Summit announced an updated overall survival (OS) analysis for its global phase III HARMONi trial. The study evaluated ivonescimab plus chemotherapy against chemo alone in patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer after TKI therapy. In the latest analysis, Western patients achieved a median follow-up of over 23 months, demonstrating improved outcomes.
The presentation also underscored Summit's efforts to expand its global development plan for ivonescimab, preparing for potential commercialization and FDA approval later this year. As the company continues to advance clinical trials and drive innovation, investors remain optimistic about the prospects for this promising biologic asset.
