Torrid Turns a Corner: Strong Rebound in Q2 2026 Driven by Customer Growth Agenda
Torrid, the fashion retailer known for its trendy and affordable clothing, has reported a strong rebound in sales and profitability during the second quarter of fiscal 2026. Despite a challenging macro environment in June, Torrid's business showed meaningful improvement as the quarter progressed.
According to Lisa Harper, Chief Executive Officer of Torrid, the company reported net sales of $231.7 million and adjusted EBITDA of $23.3 million for Q2 2026, which is in line with their guidance range. Notably, this performance follows the transformative work completed in 2025 across channel optimization and assortment and pricing architecture.
"We are encouraged by the underlying trends we are seeing in the business," said Harper. "The disciplined execution of the business underpinned by our 2026 customer growth agenda is beginning to pay off, setting the stage for a return to comparable sales growth in the back half of the year and beyond."
One of the key drivers behind Torrid's strong rebound is its focus on customer file growth through acquisition, reactivation, and retention. Ashlee Wheeler, Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the company's marketing initiatives driving this progress, which include a renewed emphasis on social media, influencer partnerships, and community events such as Casting Call.
The Casting Call program, relaunched nationwide in July, has been particularly successful, with positive momentum seen across customer reactivation, customer acquisition, and brand engagement. "We are seeing consistent improvement in customer reactivation, customer acquisition in virtually every marketing channel we operate, along with momentum from our Casting Call community events," said Wheeler.
Category-wise, Torrid saw overall strength in knits and shorts, with dresses, active graphic tees, and footwear also showing positive momentum. The company's reintroduction of the Super Soft fabric and product has been well-received by customers, who appreciate its versatility and lifestyle-driven dressing occasion.
Torrid's sub-brand portfolio continues to perform well, with Festi remaining the strongest performing sub-brand. However, the company is also pleased to see Lovesick return to growth as it begins to anniversary its launch. Overall, Torrid's Q2 2026 results demonstrate a strong rebound and set the stage for a promising second half of the year.
