WD-40 Company Sees Record-Breaking Growth with 24% Increase in Third Quarter Net Sales
WD-40 Company's third quarter fiscal year 2026 earnings conference call has revealed a remarkable uptick in sales, exceeding long-term growth expectations. The company reported consolidated net sales of $195.1 million, representing a 24% increase from the same period last year.
The majority of this growth can be attributed to the maintenance products segment, which accounted for 97% of total net sales and experienced a 26% year-over-year increase to $189.7 million. This performance was driven by double-digit growth in direct markets, as well as favorable foreign currency exchange rates.
The Americas region saw significant gains, with sales increasing 29% year-over-year to $101.2 million. Within this region, WD-40 Multi-Use product sales rose sharply, with increases of $17.2 million in the U.S. and $2.6 million in Latin America. This success was fueled by expanded distribution channels, robust e-commerce sales, and strategic promotional activities.
WD-40 Specialist sales also experienced a 22% increase, driven primarily by higher volumes in the U.S., reflecting new distribution gains, strong placement with large retailers, and growth in online sales. However, Homecare and Cleaning Products sales declined 9%, as the company focuses on higher-margin maintenance products.
EMEA saw a 17% year-over-year increase in sales to $66.6 million, with direct markets experiencing double-digit growth across key regions, including Iberia and DACH. The company remains optimistic about its prospects, expecting low double-digit growth in maintenance products for fiscal year 2026.
WD-40 Company's president and CEO, Steve Brass, expressed enthusiasm about the results, stating that 'we're encouraged by this momentum and remain focused on the levers within our control.' The company is confident that its actions have positioned it well for recovery in gross margin, despite temporary external cost pressures. Sara Hyzer, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will provide additional perspective on their outlook.
This remarkable growth performance solidifies WD-40 Company's position as a leader in the maintenance products market, driven by strategic initiatives and operational excellence."
