Wheaton Precious Metals Achieves Record-Breaking First Half of 2026 Amidst Industry Volatility

On August 7th, Wheaton Precious Metals' CEO Hayden Coddle announced a record-breaking first half of 2026, with the company delivering exceptional performance across key metrics despite industry volatility and cost pressures. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the resilience of the streaming business model and the strength of Wheaton's high-quality portfolio.

In the first six months of 2026, Wheaton achieved record production of 415,000 gold equivalent ounces and record sales volumes of 390,000 gold equivalent ounces. These figures position the company well to meet its 2026 production guidance range of 860,000-940,000 gold equivalent ounces.

The second quarter saw significant contributions from several of Wheaton's key assets, including the expanded Antamina silver stream and incremental production from Hemlo, Phoenix, Platreef, and Goose. These additions bolstered production and demonstrate the company's continued commitment to executing its growth strategy.

Wheaton also made significant strides in corporate development during the quarter. The company completed several transactions that further diversify its portfolio, including the largest precious metal streaming transaction ever completed – the Antamina silver stream with BHP. This milestone not only showcases Wheaton's leadership in the industry but also represents a defining moment for both the company and the sector.

In addition to the Antamina deal, Wheaton announced its first-ever streaming transaction in Australia, a gold and silver stream on the Jervois project through its partnership with KGL Resources. The company also expanded its royalty portfolio through the Spanish Mountain and Cipango royalties, providing it with further optionality and flexibility.

Wheaton's balance sheet remains robust, with $100 million in cash on hand at quarter end and access to the undrawn portion of its $2.5 billion revolving credit facility. This strong financial position provides the company with the flexibility to fund all outstanding commitments and pursue additional accretive mineral stream interests while continuing to pay down existing debt.

Importantly, Wheaton's growth is not dependent on additional transactions. The company's existing portfolio already supports a strong organic growth profile of 50% by 2030, driven by multiple development assets advancing through construction, ramp-up, and optimization.

Wheaton was once again recognized among Corporate Knights' best 50 corporate citizens in Canada, a multi-sector accolade that reflects the company's commitment to sustainability. The company also launched its third annual Future of Mining Challenge, which will award $1 million to an initiative focused on advancing solutions for mine optimization and reducing land impacts across the mining sector.
