Willdan Group Delivers Record-Breaking Quarter, Raises Full-Year Targets Amid Strong Commercial Demand
The Willdan Group, a leading provider of consulting and advisory services to the energy industry, has reported a record-breaking quarter in its second fiscal year 2026 results. According to the company's conference call transcript, released on August 6th, 2026, Willdan's strong performance in Q2 2026 was driven by healthy demand across all customer groups, with commercial demand accelerating and expanding the company's addressable market.
Mike Bieber, President and CEO of Willdan Group, highlighted the company's significant growth in revenue and profitability during the quarter. "We had a very strong second quarter, capping a strong first half and continuing the momentum we've built across the business," Bieber said. The company's contract revenue increased 33% year-over-year to $231 million, with net revenue growing 23% to $117 million. Adjusted EBITDA also rose 51% to a record $33 million in the quarter.
Bieber attributed Willdan's strong performance to its diversified customer base and the expansion of its commercial business. "Our commercial revenue is now about a quarter of our business, which gives us more balanced and consistent results," he explained. The largest part of Willdan's commercial revenue comes from electricity at data centers, with revenue projected to nearly triple this year over last.
The company also highlighted the importance of its acquisition strategy in driving growth and expansion. "The acquisition of Burton Energy has given us another channel to deploy our engineering, software, procurement, and energy management capabilities," Bieber said. Since closing on May 4th, Willdan has focused on converting to its ERP system, customer continuity, and cross-selling opportunities with the rest of the company.
Willdan's strong Q2 performance has led the company to raise its full-year financial targets. "With a strong first half behind us and good visibility into the remainder of the year, we're raising our full-year financial targets," Bieber said. The company's growth is expected to continue, driven by its diversified customer base, expansion into new markets, and investment in emerging technologies like AI.
As Willdan continues to execute on its strategy, investors are taking note of the company's strong performance. "Our balanced business model and increasing commercial presence will drive long-term value creation," Bieber concluded.
