Wintrust Financial Corporation Delivers Strong Q2 Performance, Drives Record Net Income and Organic Growth

Wintrust Financial Corporation has reported strong second-quarter 2026 results, with net income reaching $233.7 million, up from $227 million in the previous quarter.

According to Tim Crane, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wintrust, the company's focus on three key strategic priorities – delivering an exceptional customer experience, generating disciplined growth, and investing for the future – has driven this performance.

'We're very pleased with our results,' said Crane. 'Our strong loan and deposit growth, net interest margin in line with expectations, well-managed expenses, and stable credit quality have all contributed to our sixth consecutive record quarter of net income.'

The company reported year-to-date net income of $461 million, up 20% from the same period last year. Net interest income was up 13% quarter-over-quarter on an annualized basis, with organic growth driving this increase.

Wintrust's operating leverage has also been impressive, with Crane noting that 'we are growing revenue nicely and managing expenses to ensure we can continue to invest in the tools, capabilities, and people that lead to stronger client relationships.'

The company is continuing its expansion plans, with new branches set to open in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, Montgomery, Elk Grove Village, and three locations in Northwest Indiana. This growth is part of Wintrust's commitment to delivering a differentiated customer experience and building on its community banking model.

A recent investment in the wealth management business has also been announced, with Wintrust set to purchase the guardianship services business from Northern Trust. This acquisition will cement the company's position as a leading provider of guardianship services in the Chicago area.

Wintrust continues to invest in its digital banking experience, with new features and functionality coming in the third quarter to make it easier for consumers and businesses to manage their relationship online.

'All in all, a very strong, straightforward quarter,' said Crane. 'We're confident that our strategic priorities are driving financial results and building shareholder value.'
