Xos Shifts Gears, Stepping into the $150 Billion Power Infrastructure Market with Q2 2026 Earnings

Xos, a leading electric truck and power infrastructure company, has made significant strides in the second quarter of 2026. According to its recent conference call transcript, Xos has entered one of the largest infrastructure build-outs in American history by launching the Power Hub, a mobile containerized battery energy storage system.

With the Power Hub, Xos is poised to take advantage of the growing demand for power in data centers and industrial facilities. The company's CEO, Dakota Semler, noted that traditional grid interconnection can take anywhere from three to seven years, while the Power Hub allows sites to be energized in days.

The quarter saw Xos deliver 30 units, generating $4.7 million in revenue, with a non-GAAP gross margin of 31%. While deliveries were lighter than anticipated due to customer delays and acceptance issues, the company's management team remains optimistic about the second half of the year.

Liana Pogosyan, Xos' Chief Financial Officer, will provide further details on the financial picture and updated full-year outlook during the conference call. However, one thing is clear: Xos is shifting gears to become a power infrastructure company with products, customer base, and manufacturing capability that can grow in markets much larger than its initial electric truck business.

The Power Hub's flagship 3.1 megawatt-hour unit delivers 1.5 megawatts of continuous power from a standard intermodal container form factor. This is not just a bigger battery; it's a deployable power system that can be combined with multiple units to power multi-megawatt sites without traditional engineering cycles.

Xos' entry into the $150 billion power infrastructure market marks a significant milestone for the company, which already has over 250 megawatt hours of energy storage deployed across North America. As the demand for power continues to grow, Xos is well-positioned to capitalize on this trend and become a major player in the industry.
