Atlantic Union Bankshares Posts Strong Q2 2026 Financials, Exceeding Expectations

Atlantic Union Bankshares has reported strong second-quarter financial results, exceeding expectations and providing an encouraging indication of its earnings power. The company's disciplined execution and intentional capital deployment have begun to translate into stronger earnings capacity, capital generation, and long-term shareholder value.

In a conference call on July 21st, Atlantic Union Bankshares President and CEO John Asbury highlighted the company's Q2 2026 highlights and market insights. Despite continued uncertainty around geopolitical developments and the conflict involving Iran, customer confidence remained resilient, and economic activity across their footprint held up well.

Notably, Atlantic Union delivered record loan production during the quarter, exceeding its 2025 fourth-quarter production level by roughly 8%. While a normal summer slowdown is expected in the third quarter, the company's pipelines remain healthy, supporting its full-year outlook. Loan growth is currently expected to finish toward the higher end of their mid-single-digit range.

The company's adjusted operating performance was strong, with solid loan growth, margin improvement on both a core and reported basis, disciplined expense management, and solid credit performance. Additionally, Atlantic Union realized a $32.3 million pre-tax gain from the sale of its equity interest in Bearing Insurance.

Atlantic Union's commitment to creating shareholder value remains unwavering, with the company well-positioned to deliver sustainable growth, top-tier financial performance, and long-term value for its shareholders. As John Asbury noted, "We believe that our continued organic growth opportunities, due to our robust presence in attractive markets, reinforce our status as the premier regional bank headquartered in the lower Mid-Atlantic."

Executive Vice President and CFO Alex Dodd presented the financial review during the conference call, providing further details on the company's performance. The full earnings release and accompanying slide presentation are available for download on Atlantic Union Bankshares' investor website.
