Coursera Hits Milestones in Integration, Sets Stage for Next-Chapter Growth
Coursera, the leading online learning platform, announced significant milestones in its integration with Udemy during its Q2 2026 earnings call. The company's quarterly performance marked an important step in unlocking Coursera's next chapter of growth and value creation.
On May 11th, Coursera completed its transaction with Udemy and began operating as a combined entity. With integration efforts well underway, the company reported revenue of $299 million in Q2, driven by its enterprise segment and consumer subscriptions. This represents a significant increase from previous quarters, with paid subscribers rising by 44% year-over-year to more than 1.6 million.
"Our objective was never simply to become larger," said Greg Hart, Coursera's President and Chief Executive Officer. "It was to build a stronger, more capable company with the scale, data, and innovation capacity to create next-generation learning experiences faster than either company could alone."
The composition of Coursera's revenue base is also improving, with 85% of total revenue now coming from recurring subscription streams within its enterprise or consumer segments. This shift towards a subscription-based model has contributed to the company's increasing focus on earnings quality and cost discipline.
"We're executing at a faster pace," said Hart. "Following close, our teams moved immediately from planning to execution. We now expect to achieve at least $85 million of annual run rate net synergies by the end of 2026 and are tracking well ahead of the original 24-month timeline to deliver the $115 million synergy goal."
Coursera's financial profile is also strengthening, with the company increasing its full-year adjusted EBITDA margin target by another 100 basis points versus its June outlook to approximately 14%. This represents more than 550 basis points of margin improvement compared to Coursera's 2025 results.
As Andrew Ng, CEO of LearnVector and Chairman and Co-founder of Coursera, noted, the pace at which people and workforces build new capabilities must accelerate with AI changing work and skills faster than traditional learning models can keep pace. With an improving financial profile and a leaner, more agile operating model, Coursera is in a stronger position to accelerate the next phase of its strategy.
Coursera's Q2 performance demonstrates the company's ability to drive growth and value creation through integration and strategic innovation. As the online learning landscape continues to evolve, Coursera's commitment to delivering high-quality, AI-driven learning experiences positions it for continued success in this rapidly changing market."
