EQT's Unmatched Potential: A Quarter of Records and a Bright Future Ahead

EQT, a leading energy company, has once again demonstrated its unparalleled capabilities with an impressive second quarter performance. The company's integrated platform continues to be the driving force behind its success, as evidenced by the numerous records set during the quarter.

One of the most notable achievements was the drilling of the longest lateral in shale development history, exceeding 29,000 feet while maintaining a perfect safety record. This remarkable feat not only showcases EQT's operational prowess but also reflects the company's relentless focus on improving capital efficiency and lowering costs. As President and Chief Executive Officer Toby Rice pointed out, "Records like this redefine what is possible."

The strong operational execution and robust well performance have led to significant production outperformance, with second-quarter volumes surpassing the high end of EQT's guidance. A substantial portion of this outperformance can be attributed to the company's midstream compression projects, which are extending flat times on new wells and shallowing base declines on older wells. These projects, a key component of EQT's synergies when it acquired Equitrans, continue to exceed even the most optimistic forecasts.

As a result of this strong performance, EQT is raising its 2026 production guidance by approximately 90 billion cubic feet equivalent (BCFE) at the midpoint. This upward revision underscores the company's confidence in its ability to deliver sustained growth and value for its shareholders.

In addition to its operational success, EQT has also made significant strides in advancing its project pipeline. The receipt of FERC authorization to begin construction activities on MVP Southgate is a major milestone that will provide critical infrastructure connecting low-cost Appalachian natural gas supply with one of the fastest-growing demand regions in the country. By accelerating capital spending and de-risking project execution, EQT has positioned itself to capitalize on the vast opportunities presented by this project.

As President Rice emphasized, "MVP Southgate enhances the strategic value of EQT's integrated platform, expanding market access for Appalachian natural gas while providing an attractive combination of long-term contracted cash flow visibility and compelling risk-adjusted returns." This sentiment is echoed in EQT's vertical integration strategy, which has enabled the company to unlock significant value across both its upstream and midstream businesses.

Looking ahead, EQT remains well-positioned to capture a substantial share of Appalachian demand growth. The company's operational excellence, combined with its strategic momentum, positions it as a leader in the energy industry. As Jeremy Knop, Chief Financial Officer, noted, "Our success this quarter underscores how EQT is uniquely positioned to capture a substantial amount of Appalachian demand growth and continue to improve realized pricing." With a strong foundation and a clear vision for the future, EQT is poised to deliver sustained growth and value for its shareholders.
