FGI Industries Inc. Reports Strong Q2 2026 Results Despite Challenging Market Conditions
FGI Industries Inc., a leading provider of building products and solutions, has reported another quarter of revenue growth and improved operating expense performance for the second quarter of 2026.
According to the company's Chief Executive Officer, David Bruce, FGI's revenue increased 2.9% year-over-year in the second quarter, with strongest performance coming from its sanitaryware and shower systems businesses. The sanitaryware business benefited from the normalization of customer purchasing activity following last year's tariff-related disruptions, while the shower systems business continued to gain traction due to new products and expanded customer distribution.
Despite mixed market conditions within its bath furniture and other product categories, FGI has managed the business with discipline and remains focused on opportunities where it sees the strongest long-term potential. Looking ahead, the company expects Covered Bridge Cabinetry to resume growth in the second half of the year, while continued momentum is expected in its shower systems business.
FGI's financial results for the quarter were also impressive, with revenue totaling $31.9 million and gross profit increasing 22.5% year-over-year to $10.7 million. The company's gross margin increased to 33.4% in the quarter compared to 28.1% the prior year, driven by trade-related recoveries.
The company's operating expenses decreased to $9.3 million compared to $9.5 million in the prior year, due primarily to lower selling and distribution costs and optimizing warehouse operations. FGI has also initiated a broader initiative to diversify its supply chain and reduce freight costs, with plans to begin operations at a new warehouse in Texas to support distribution across the Southern United States.
In his prepared remarks, David Bruce highlighted the company's ability to adapt to changing market conditions while continuing to serve its customers, positioning FGI well for the remainder of the year. "I am proud of how our team has remained focused on execution," he said. "Their ability to adapt to changing market conditions while continuing to serve our customers has positioned FGI well for the remainder of the year."
The company's Chief Financial Officer, Jae Chung, also provided additional details on the quarter, highlighting FGI's current liquidity and balance sheet. He noted that GAAP operating gain was $1.4 million, improving from an operating loss of $0 in the prior year.
Overall, FGI Industries Inc.'s Q2 2026 results demonstrate the company's ability to navigate challenging market conditions while continuing to drive growth and improve its financial performance.
