Salesforce Defies Skeptics with Strong Q2 Results

Despite predictions of doom from industry naysayers, Salesforce has emerged from its second quarter results looking stronger than ever. The company's fiscal 2027 Q2 earnings report, released on August 26th, showcased a string of impressive achievements that left even the most hardened skeptics in awe.

In a call with investors and analysts, Marc Benioff, Chair, CEO, and Co-founder, outlined the company's remarkable progress. Net new AOV growth was the strongest it has been in four years, with Agentforce sales and service and Slack seats all growing year-over-year despite expectations to the contrary.

Moreover, Salesforce's pricing power proved more resilient than anticipated, with A1E and A4X bookings doubling quarter-over-quarter. Contract length terms improved across all segments in new business and renewals, further solidifying the company's position as a leader in the industry.

The results also highlighted the growing importance of AI within Salesforce, with Agent usage surging 6X via Model Context Protocol calls and Claude calls. In fact, nine out of ten AI companies that have standardized on Salesforce use both the platform and Slack, with their spend increasing by a staggering 435% year-over-year.

Perhaps most excitingly, however, was the announcement of Claudeforce – the groundbreaking new product resulting from a partnership between Anthropic's Claude and Salesforce. As described by Robin Washington, Chief Operating and Financial Officer, "This is really the best of both worlds... It's completely exciting. I think that this is the way all enterprise systems are going to run in the future."

Benioff was equally effusive, emphasizing the potential for Claudeforce to unlock value trapped within Salesforce by combining Anthropic's AI with Salesforce's user-friendly interface. "Customers have put hundreds of billions of USD into Salesforce," he noted. "There is a huge amount of value that can be unleashed through this combination."

As the company looks to the future, one thing is clear: Salesforce has emerged from its Q2 results as a force to be reckoned with. Despite predictions of decline and doom, the company has shown itself capable of adapting, innovating, and growing in even the most challenging circumstances.
