SK hynix Shatters Revenue Records and Reinforces Commitment to Shareholder Value
SK hynix, one of the world's leading memory semiconductor companies, has reported a remarkable 32% quarter-on-quarter increase in revenue for its third quarter of 2026, reaching a staggering KRW 104.6 trillion (approximately USD 83 billion). This achievement marks not only a record high but also surpasses KRW 100 trillion in quarterly revenues for the first time.
According to CEO Kwak Noh-Jung's statement during the earnings release conference call on October 27, 2026, this significant growth is largely due to tight supply and demand conditions driven by increasing demand for AI memory. Consequently, prices for both DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) and NAND (Not And) recorded substantial increases, particularly centered around HBM (High-Bandwidth Memory), server DRAM, and enterprise SSD.
The company's focus on strategic investments has also yielded impressive results. By expanding sales centered on AI servers, SK hynix achieved a 10% sequential increase in bit shipments for its DRAM segment, with the mass production of HBM4 commencing in the third quarter. Notably, server DDR5 shipments rose by over 40% compared to Q2, driving overall growth in DRAM bit shipments.
Additionally, CFO Kim Woo-hyun highlighted that DRAM ASP (Average Selling Price) saw a high 20% increase, mirroring the previous quarter's performance. This remarkable growth can be attributed to continued strength in conventional DRAM prices and an expanding sales mix of HBM4, which commands higher prices than its predecessor.
In his address, CEO Kwak Noh-Jung emphasized SK hynix's commitment to sharing returns from strategic investments with shareholders. The company has decided not to proceed with Solidigm's IPO (Initial Public Offering) due to recent market volatility and instead will continue strengthening competitiveness in the AI data center storage market.
The firm also intends to return gains realized from its investment in Kioxia this year through a special dividend, upholding the principle of protecting shareholder interests while investing boldly in sustainable growth. This demonstrates SK hynix's dedication to ensuring shareholders directly benefit from the company's strategic investments.
SK hynix's remarkable performance and commitment to its shareholders have reinforced the company's position as a leader in the memory semiconductor industry, solidifying its promise of future growth and innovation for years to come.
