Waterdrop Inc. Achieves 72.8% Revenue Growth, Filing 88 Large Language Model Patents
Waterdrop Inc., a leading health technology company, has announced its impressive financial results for the second quarter of 2026. During a recent conference call, the company's CEO, Shen Peng, revealed that Waterdrop had achieved a total revenue of CNY 1.45 billion, marking a significant 72.8% year-over-year growth.
The remarkable revenue increase is attributed to the optimization of user acquisition and conversion in the insurance business segment, which drove an impressive 80.5% year-over-year revenue growth. Additionally, Waterdrop Medical Crowdfunding has cumulatively raised medical funds for a staggering 3.82 million patients as of the quarter's end.
Moreover, the company's digital clinic autonomy solution business performed exceptionally well, with quarterly patient enrollment rising over 50% year-over-year. These growth trends are underpinned by Waterdrop's deep integration of AI across its core business scenarios, exemplified by the filing of 88 large language model patents, including 10 overseas.
"We have maintained growth momentum and achieved a total revenue of CNY 1.45 billion, up 72.8% year-over-year," Shen Peng stated during the conference call. "Our insurance business continued to optimize user acquisition and conversion, driving 80.5% year-over-year revenue growth."
Waterdrop's commitment to shareholder returns is also evident, with the board recently approving a cash dividend of $0.03 per ADS (or $0.003 per ordinary share) payable on October 9, 2026. Furthermore, the company has initiated a fixed share repurchase program of up to $50 million over the next 12 months.
The company's charity platform, Waterdrop Charity, has also made significant strides, partnering with 119 public charitable organizations and launching more than 15,600 charity programs as of June 30, 2026. Shen Peng emphasized that Waterdrop remains focused on growth and investment in core businesses, expecting current incremental investment to continue translating to solid user base and future product potential.
Looking ahead to the full year 2026, Waterdrop anticipates revenue growth of over 40% compared to the previous year, with operating profit expected to increase by more than 10%. The company's AI-driven initiatives are showing promising results, with early progress made in select global markets.
