WEBTOON has taken meaningful steps to integrate AI across its platform with features such as auto translation programs and interactive story chat services like Bios. The company launched the beta program of its AI-powered auto translation program in May for eligible English language canvas creators, which has received an encouraging response from both users and creators. This initiative has the potential to become an important driver of growth.
Another notable development is the introduction of a new AI-powered short-form animation tool called Cuts Make in Korea. This service allows fans to create and participate in their favorite story using official IP, resulting in a significant increase in new content (136%) and creators making content (188% over the week prior).
